Thanks to Barbara Herzog and Rey Rivera for an excellent spring meeting at Estrella Mountain College. The breakout sessions, articulation meeting, and the opportunity to visit with colleagues were all very beneficial.
Certainly our students benefit from our attendance at our statewide meetings. Lets plan ahead to attend the fall meeting at Dine' College.
Jeremiah Cronin (520-724-6707) can be contacted for information about the meeting and lodging.
See you October 8 at Dine' College,
Sam

Discussion of use of money:
Suggestions: Workshops, Bring in guest speaker to ArizMATYC meetings with possible matching funds from larger institutions, Arizona Distinguished award for teacher and student, Recognize starters of ArizMATYC, scholarships to send new faculty to AMATYC or ArizMATYC.
It was decided that a committee was needed to bring back proposals. Volunteers for the committee included Ray Battee, Anne Dudley, Ann Lindner, Sally Jacobs, and Denis Shaw. Send suggestions for the committee to Ann Lindner.
It was suggested at the 1998 AMATYC meeting that our logo be changed since the Pittsburgh meeting wants all of the logos. However, the Pittsburgh delegation has already asked for the logo and the colors from Sharon Douglas. Colors picked were silver and blue. So the decision was to keep our logo for the Pittsburgh meeting. Ray Battee will bring back to the next ArizMATYC meeting a discussion to change the logo.
Members are encouraged to join national committees.
If you wish to be involved contact Sally Jacobs. Yavapai showed interest.
